How the road system changes from August 22

Traffic coming from the Prati riverfront to reach the riverfront again will follow the signage directions installed in recent weeks.

Specifically:

• from Piazza Adriana - mandatory right turn to Via delle Fosse di Castello (left turn will only be allowed for public or authorized vehicles);
• from Via delle Fosse di Castello mandatory left - turn onto Via di Porta Castello;
• from Via di Porta Castello go straight ahead, cross Via della Conciliazione, to take Via di San Pio X (which changes direction);
• at the end of Via San Pio X you can turn right to continue on Lungotevere in Sassia, or continue on Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II, which becomes a two-way road as in the English road system;
• the last section of Borgo Sant'Angelo until the intersection with Piazza Pia will be allowed only to public or authorized vehicles.
• From Via delle Fosse di Castello take a mandatory left turn onto Via di Porta Castello;
• from Via di Porta Castello continue straight ahead, cross Via della Conciliazione, to take Via di San Pio X (which changes direction);

at the end of Via San Pio X you can turn right to continue on Lungotevere in Sassia, or continue on Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II which becomes a two-way road as in the English road system;

the last section of Borgo Sant'Angelo until the intersection with Piazza Pia will be allowed only to public or authorized vehicles.

When the work is completed (by December 2024) there will be a new underpass connecting the road from the Passetto, close to the underpass in Sassia, and the square above will become solely pedestrian.

From 7 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, the routes of bus lines 23, 40, 62, 280, 982, n3d and n3s in the St. Peter's area will be changed and in conjunction with the change in traffic circulation patterns. Here are the details.

Meanwhile in the Prati area, changes to traffic patterns have been triggered.

• On the streets between Viale Giulio Cesare and Via Cola di Rienzo, the traffic direction has changed on Via Duilio, Via Attilio Regolo and Via Fabio Massimo as of August 10.
• On the streets between Via Cola di Rienzo and Via Crescenzio, since August 11 reversed the direction of travel on Via Terenzio and Via Virgilio.
• Soon, there will also be a change of direction on Via Varro and Via Propertius.
