4-hour strike on Monday on ATAC, Roma TPL and Cotral networks

New strike coming in the local public transport. A four-hour national protest proclaimed by the USB union is scheduled for Monday, July 24.
The strike will affect ATAC, Roma TPL and Cotral employees from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. The strike will also affect routes run by other subcontracted operators. Regarding accessibility, during the strike, at the stations of the metro-rail network that will possibly remain, open; the service of escalators, elevators and stair elevators will not be guaranteed.
Ticketing services will not be guaranteed; while interchange parking lots will remain open. Online ticketing service will remain active at all times.

Among the reasons for the protest are: the cancellation of utility and energy tariff increases, freezing and capping the prices of primary goods and fuels; a freeze on military spending and the sending of arms to Ukraine, as well as economic investment in all essential public services; the overcoming of penalizing entry wages by guaranteeing first- and second-tier contractual enforcement for new hires; the need to change the obsessive and vicious criterion that, extolling savings, sees the burning of florid public money through contracts and subcontracts to companies that offer poor quality services and underpaid labor, guaranteeing them fragrant profits; worker and service safety; introduction of the crime of homicide at work; a minimum wage by law at 10 euros an hour against the practice of atypical contracts and precariousness; free exercise of the right to strike in essential public
services; a law on representation that overcomes the monopoly built on complicities between trade unions and employer associations.
