Boundaries and operating hours of daytime and nighttime LTZ

Daytime Operating Hours (yellow borders) 

Electronic gates operate:

  • 6.30 am to 10 am every day (except on public holidays)

Nighttime Operating Hours (blue area)

Nighttime LTZ of Trastevere is closed to vehicles at night and the speed limit is 30 Km/h:

  • 9.30 pm to 3 am on Fridays and Saturdays (including public holidays)

  • From May to October also on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9.30 pm to 3 am

  • In August, nighttime LTZ is suspended

Permits for the LTZ Trastevere

Residents and other categories entitled to a permit for the area, as well as people with disabilities owning a specific permit, can access the area with the authorized vehicles (displaying the permit on the windscreen), drive through the whole area and park in the designated parking spaces and any other parking areas.

Depending on the type of permit, the owner is allowed to either transit (just drive through the area) or access, drive and park in the area.

Permits for the LTZ Trastevere "G sector" (for residents, domiciled people, artisans, owners of repair garages and people doing night shifts) are not valid for other sectors within the Historic Centre LTZ.


Categories that can access LTZ:

  • Taxis and NCC (chauffer driven car rentals)

  • Residents who have a permit to access the LTZ at night

  • People with disabilities owning a permit

  • Motorbikes and mopeds can always access the LTZ. They can park only in the designated parking spaces

  • Electric traction vehicles can access and drive through every LTZ of Rome for free. To do so, the owner must send a request via email to Roma Servizi per la Mobilità: attaching a copy of the vehicle registration certificate. The vehicle will be authorized to enter every LTZ with no need to display a permit.
