Roma Servizi per la Mobilità proposes solutions, identifies strategies, supports the actions of Roma Capitale and verifies the effectiveness of the measures adopted in order to find the most appropriate solutions in the short, medium and long term, with respect for the environment, the liveability of urban spaces and the sustainability of choices as priorities.
It carries out transport studies and assists the administration in drawing up strategic plans for the development of transport networks, such as the PUMS - Plan for Sustainable Urban Mobility, which defines and plans new infrastructures for mobility in the medium term. It plans the new measures to regulate urban mobility in the short term, identified in the PGTU - General Urban Traffic Plan, and designs the PPTU - Detailed Urban Traffic Plans, punctual and widespread interventions throughout the territory, with a great impact on the quality of life and road safety.
It plans and designs the public surface transport network and its modifications according to the relationship between transport demand and supply. It supervises, monitors and certifies the production of public transport operators in order to verify the quality of service requirements and the payment of service contract fees. It carries out planning, monitoring and verification of reserved school transport services and transport for disabled people on demand.
By seeking funding and partnerships, it participates in and develops innovative national and international projects in the field of mobility and the environment.
