Roma Servizi per la Mobilità supports all the actions made by the Administration offering solutions, finding strategies and making sure the measures taken are effective on a short, medium and long-term basis.
The main priorities is the environmental protection, the liveability of urban areas and the sustainability of the decisions made. It developes different mobility scenarios for urban planning through investigations and research, testing the effectiveness of new infrastructures as well as of new traffic measures.
Roma Servizi per la Mobilità carries out transportation studies and supports the Administration when building up new strategic development plans for the transport network (e.g. the PUMS - Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan - that defines and developes infrastructures for mobility services on a medium-term basis).
The measures planned for regulating citizens’ mobility on a short-term basis can be found in the PGTU (Urban Traffic General Plan); moreover, it designed and developed the PPTU (Detailed Plans for Urban Traffic) which have a great impact on road safety.
Roma Servizi per la Mobilità plans and designs the public transport network and the changes to be made according to transport supply and demand. It also monitors, reports and certifies the production carried out by the public transport operators. It actively looks for funding and partners to participate in national and international projects regarding environment and mobility, runs the Road Safety Center of Roma Capitale.
Last but not least, Roma Servizi per la Mobilità plans, monitors and controls school transport services and transport services dedicated to disabled people.
