Renewal/duplicate of the permit for people with disabilities

In order to renew a 5 year permit for a person with disabilities, a medical certificate by your general practitioner (declaring the persistence of the disability condition) is required.

To renew a permit valid for less than 5 years, the applicant must declare the personal details, and submit: 

  • a legal-medical certificate, drawn up according to the law no. 102/2009 (stating the person has seriously reduced walking ability or is blind) to be submitted together with a letter signed by the INPS (National Social Security Service) director, confirming the medical investigation is completed

  • a medical certificate, drawn up according to the D.P.R no. 495/1992 updated with D.P.R. no. 610/1996, stating the person has seriously reduced walking ability or is blind

  • the expired permit (mandatory) or, in case of lost/stolen permit, theft or loss report submitted by the permit holder. Both the theft and the loss report must indicate the permit number.

The aforementioned documents have to be submitted (together with a copy to be kept by the office):

  • to our Helpdesk - via Silvio D'Amico n 38 - 00145 Rome (mon/fri, from 8am to 4pm)

  • to the office in charge in your neighborhood

  • to your local ASL (local health board) through the doctor that issued the medical certificate

  • by post to: Roma Servizi per la Mobilità – via Silvio D'Amico n 38 - 00145 Rome

The person requesting the permit must sign the authorisation to process personal data. If the application is submitted by a delegate, he/she must bring a proxy on plain paper and copies of valid I.D. for both of them.

The permit will have the same validity stated in the medical certificate, plus 45 days if the reduced walking ability is certificated for less than 5 years.

Price of the permit:

Renewal

  • of a 5 year permit: € 5.16 + € 1 (fixed fee)

  • of a permit valid for less than 5 years:

    • if the certificate you submit states your disability (walking ability) is permanent or enduring for at least 5 years, the price is € 5.16 + € 1 (fixed fee)

    • if the certificate you submit states your disability (walking ability) is enduring for less than 5 years, the price is € 5.16 + € 1 (fixed fee) + € 16 (stamp duty)

Duplicate

  • of a 5 year permit, in case of damage, change of address, theft or loss: € 5.16 + € 1 (fixed fee)

  • of a permit valid for less than 5 years, in case of damage, change of address, theft or loss: € 5.16 + € 1 (fixed fee) + € 16 (stamp duty)

How to pay

If you are submitting the application to Roma Servizi per la Mobilità (by post, fax or at the help desk) stamp duty and processing fees can be paid:

  • by credit or debit card (at the Helpdesk)

  • by submitting a copy of the payment made on postal account: 47172002 payable to Roma Capitale – Dipartimento Mobilità e Trasporti – Ufficio Permessi Centro Storico;

  • by submitting a copy of the payment made by bank transfer IBAN: IT 07 O 07601 03200000047172002  SWIFT CODE: BPPIITRRXXX
