"As of Monday, Jan. 30, the call for tenders for the world's largest tender on trams has been public, where the purchase of 121 convoys for nearly half a billion is planned."

This is according to Rome Capital's Councillor for Mobility Eugenio Patanè. "It's been since 1999 since a tender like this was made, and today we are buying streetcars for Rome for the next 30 years," Patanè adds, explaining that the cars will be "absolutely innovative. They will also replace existing trams and serve the new lines. In the coming days we will clarify all aspects with Mayor Gualtieri, together with the general manager of Atac," the councilor announces.

"The first convoy, we count on having it before the Jubilee and, in any case," the alderman stresses, "we are talking about a historic investment for the capital's railways, which looks to the long term.
